Mercury Transit November 8, 2006
I took my 8 inch Dob. scope and solar filter to share the view with 9 or 10 classes at Stafford Elementary. Images were taken with a Canon A75. Sunspots 921 and 922 had faded quite a bit, but were still detectable on the right limb of the sun. A few days before this transit a sunspot on the edge of the sun sent off a huge burst of energy. This sunspot rounded the day of the transit and was named 923. |
