September 2008
Ike was a very interesting storm. It's track took it
a long way before it ever hit land. At first forecasters were saying it would
hit the Louisiana to Florida coast. However between a high pressure system set
over Louisiana and an approaching cool front through Texas it steered that storm
straight to Houston.

A few schools closed a 1/2 day on the Thursday
before it hit. This was in response to the crazy mass of people who left for
Hurricane Rita, causing total chaos on the roads and people being stuck. The
city was evacuated in waves instead of all at once and it worked beautifully.
EZtag became free in addition to lessen the traffic problems.
Houston and surrounding areas were hit hard by this
storm. Here you will find my journal of the event and images.
